Kung Fu/ Chuan Fa developed in China over thousands of years. Many influences came into play in this development. Shaolin, military, topography etc all had a hand in Kung Fu’s progression into a formidable fighting system. The Shaolin were naturalist and looked to nature to aid in new inspiration of techniques and skills. Some of these systems lasted the test of time and with a natural progression from China to the Ryukyu islands to Hawaii and then the United States of America. The Pai Family moved from China to Hawaii in 1924 bringing this family style of martial arts to North America. Grandmaster Pai brought his family art of Pai Lum (White Dragon) to the mainland after the Korean War.
